Tilak, Arya, Kushagra and Spinners Power India A into Tri-Series Final

Tilak, Arya, Kushagra and Spinners Power India A into Tri-Series Final

India A cricket team stormed into the tri-series final with a commanding 101-run victory over Afghanistan A cricket team in Dambulla, successfully defending 319 and bowling Afghanistan out for 218 in 36.5 overs.

Half-centuries from Tilak Varma (59), Priyansh Arya (58), and Kumar Kushagra (58) laid the foundation for India A’s strong total on a pitch offering turn and bounce.

Young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had a nervy start and survived two early chances before playing an aggressive cameo. He struck two massive sixes but was eventually dismissed for 38, with Afghan pacer Faridoon Dawoodzai having the final say.

Arya provided early momentum with a fluent knock, reaching his fifty in just 34 balls, while Kushagra impressed in his first match of the series with confident strokeplay against both pace and spin. Tilak once again anchored the middle order, registering his third fifty in four innings and stitching together a crucial 104-run partnership with Kushagra.

Afghanistan A began their chase steadily and looked competitive at 157 for 3 in the 25th over, but India A’s spinners turned the game decisively.

Nishant Sindhu starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 31, while fellow spinners tightened the screws in the middle overs. An 87-run stand between Bahir Shah (57) and Faisal Shinozaza (46) briefly threatened India A, but quick breakthroughs from Sindhu, Anukul Roy, and Vipraj Nigam triggered a dramatic collapse.

Afghanistan lost their final seven wickets for just 61 runs, handing India A a comprehensive win and sealing their place in the final with a major boost in net run rate.
