Australia Crush Bangladesh as Bowlers and Voll Deliver Dominant Win

Australia women's national cricket team continued their strong campaign with a dominant nine-wicket victory over Bangladesh women's national cricket team at Headingley, boosting their net run rate significantly.

Australia’s bowlers produced a clinical performance, restricting Bangladesh to just 77 for 8 in 20 overs on a seam-friendly surface. Kim Garth set the tone with early breakthroughs, while Sophie Molineux and Ellyse Perry maintained relentless pressure, with the trio sharing six wickets.

Bangladesh struggled throughout the innings, managing only six boundaries. Captain Nigar Sultana top-scored with a cautious 27 off 47 balls, but the batting unit never recovered after collapsing to 27 for 5 inside eight overs. After the match, Sultana admitted her side was capable of much better.

Chasing a modest target of 78, Australia made light work of the task. Georgia Voll starred with an unbeaten 45, accelerating after a steady start and striking six boundaries—matching Bangladesh’s total number of fours in the entire innings.

Australia completed the chase with more than 10 overs remaining, underlining their superiority despite missing key players. The team entered the match with only 13 fit players, as Phoebe Litchfield (quad injury) and Ashleigh Gardner (ankle strain) were unavailable.
