Sanju Samson Joins RR Squad After Finger Surgery

Sanju Samson, who underwent finger surgery last month, has linked up with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) squad on Monday.

Samson had been recovering at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and it remains uncertain whether he will take up wicketkeeping duties immediately. If he isn’t fully fit, Dhruv Jurel could step in as an alternative behind the stumps. Jurel had previously kept wickets in Samson’s absence during the fifth T20I against England in February after Samson sustained a finger injury from a Jofra Archer delivery.

Meanwhile, Riyan Parag has fully recovered from a shoulder injury and is set to feature for RR. After missing the T20Is against South Africa and England, Parag returned to action in the Ranji Trophy, scoring a half-century and bowling 26 overs against Saurashtra.

RR kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23, followed by back-to-back home games against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati on March 26 and March 30.
