Perry announces move back to New South Wales

Ellyse Perry is set to rejoin New South Wales for the upcoming Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) season, marking a homecoming after six years with Victoria. Despite being limited to just 20 appearances for Victoria due to her international duties, Perry made a significant impact, amassing 1052 runs at an average of 75.14 and taking 13 wickets.

Her availability for NSW, the reigning WNCL champions, will again be affected by Australia commitments. She’s expected to miss the early part of the season while competing in the ODI World Cup, though a potential window in January ahead of India’s tour could allow her to feature.

While based in Melbourne, Perry remained loyal to the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL and maintained strong ties with Cricket New South Wales.

Reflecting on her time with Victoria, Perry said:
"The last six years in Melbourne and at Cricket Victoria have been extremely fond ones. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities and memories I’ve made there. I'm really looking forward to being back in Sydney and closer to my family and longtime friends. It’s been lovely to stay connected with CNSW through the Sixers, and I feel very fortunate to be rejoining such a world-class program."

NSW’s Head of Female Elite Cricket, Leah Poulton, welcomed the move:
"We're thrilled to welcome Ellyse back home to the Breakers. She's one of the world’s top cricketers, a role model, and a leader. Her professionalism and experience will be invaluable to our program."

Perry’s packed schedule includes a stint with Hampshire in July, followed by a return to Birmingham Phoenix for The Hundred in August. Australia’s next international assignment comes in September with an ODI series in India, which will serve as key preparation for the World Cup.
