Anvay Dravid Selected in India U-19 Squad for Sri Lanka Tour

Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, has been selected in India's Under-19 squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. The young wicketkeeper-batter has been included in the squad for the three-match one-day series scheduled to be played in Hambantota next month.

The tour will feature three one-day matches on July 4, 6, and 9, followed by two four-day games in Galle and Colombo.

Anvay, a right-handed batter and wicketkeeper, has previously represented India B Under-19 in a tri-series involving Afghanistan Under-19 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru in November 2025. Although he was dismissed for a first-ball duck in his only appearance, he impressed behind the stumps with two catches.

The youngster recently captained Karnataka's Under-19 side during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, guiding the team to the quarter-finals. He finished as Karnataka's second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, accumulating 220 runs in six innings at an average of 55.

The India Under-19 squads for both the one-day and multi-day formats will be led by Madhya Pradesh batter Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan, while Uttarakhand's Lakshya Raichandani has been appointed vice-captain.

Raichandani has already made his first-class debut and enjoyed a productive 2025-26 Ranji Trophy campaign, scoring three half-centuries in five innings.

Anvay's selection continues the Dravid family's association with India's youth setup. His elder brother, Samit Dravid, was selected for India's Under-19 squad against Australia in 2024 but missed the series due to a knee injury.

The Sri Lanka tour is expected to provide several young talents with valuable international exposure as India continue building their future talent pipeline.
