Yasir Khan's blazing 87 powers Multan Sultans to their first win of the season

Multan Sultans finally kickstarted their PSL 2025 campaign, cruising to a 33-run victory over Lahore Qalandars in their first home game of the season. Iftikhar’s late fireworks, including 14 off the final over from Shaheen, ensured Sultans finished with a flourish. Between them, Qalandars’ pace trio of Shaheen, Rauf, and Zaman gave away a staggering 119 runs in just eight overs.

Bracewell, Ubaid Break Qalandars’ Momentum

Lahore needed an explosive start, and Fakhar Zaman delivered early, smashing 30 off David Willey’s first two overs. He also cleared the ropes against Bracewell, but his promising knock ended on 32 when he skied Ubaid Shah and Josh Little pulled off a sharp catch under the lights.

Abdullah Shafique and Daryl Mitchell stitched a quick 36-run stand to momentarily steady the chase, but the required rate kept climbing. Sultans struck back decisively, removing both set batters and Rishad in a quick burst, leaving Billings and Sikandar Raza with an uphill task.

Billings kept the flicker of hope alive with a flurry of boundaries, especially targeting Little and Ubaid. But Ubaid had the final word, dismissing him in the 15th over with a mistimed slog. His wild celebration resulted in an accidental strike to teammate Usman Khan’s face — a moment of comic relief in a game Multan had all but sealed.

Raza's late hitting, including a 27-ball fifty, only narrowed the margin of defeat. The Qalandars never truly threatened to chase down the mammoth target, as Sultans delivered a complete performance to notch their first win — a statement in front of their home crowd that their campaign might just be picking up steam.
