The United States bowled the United Arab Emirates out for 213 and chased the target down with 68 balls to spare at Grand Prairie Stadium
A five-wicket win in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series in Dallas was built on an all-round afternoon from Shubham Ranjane, who took 4-39 and then finished the chase unbeaten.
The United States of America, who had already secured the League 2 title and a place in next year's World Cup Qualifier, put the United Arab Emirates in and bowled them out for 213 inside 47 overs.
Shehan Jayasuriya then made 83 from 95 balls to take the hosts to 214 for 5 in 38.4 overs.
The United Arab Emirates lost both openers cheaply after being asked to bat, Tanish Suri going for 1 from four balls and Adeeb Usmani making 12 from 33.
Muhammad Shahdad and the captain Harpreet Singh repaired the innings with a third-wicket stand of 98 from 103 balls, the most substantial partnership of the match.
Shahdad made 79 from 105 balls, pacing the innings rather than attacking it, while Harpreet's 48 came from 53. Hasan Khan broke the stand when he removed the captain.
Once Harpreet was gone, the United Arab Emirates could not rebuild a second time. Ranjane returned 4-39 from his ten overs and Saurabh Netravalkar took 3-23 from 9.3.
Between them the two seamers accounted for seven of the ten wickets, and the innings ended on 213 in 46.3 overs with more than three overs unused.
Ranjane was named player of the match for the bowling figures and the 14 not out from 21 balls that saw his side home.
The chase began badly for the hosts. The captain Monank Patel was dismissed for 0 by Muhammad Arfan in the opening over, the second ball of the innings.
Jayasuriya settled the reply from there, batting through the middle of the innings for 83 from 95 balls and sharing the stands that kept the required rate within reach.
Smit Patel made 25 from 45, Sanjay Krishnamurthi 28 from 36 and Milind Kumar 27 from 23. Arfan was the one United Arab Emirates bowler to trouble them, taking 3-38 from his ten overs.
The target was reached with 68 balls to spare, a margin that reflected how little the chase was ever threatened after Jayasuriya was set.
The defeat left the United Arab Emirates without a win in the Dallas series, which brings them together with the United States and Namibia for six one-day internationals between 3 and 13 October.
They came into the trip bottom of the League 2 table, with eight wins from 28 matches at the end of September, and this is their penultimate assignment in the competition. Fixtures against the Netherlands and Oman remain.
Finishing outside the top four would not end their 2027 World Cup hopes. The International Cricket Council has confirmed a Qualifier Play-off route for the teams who fall short.
The United States clinched the League 2 title on 8 October, when Monank Patel's 108 carried them past Namibia by four wickets and took them to an unassailable 47 points.
They join Scotland, on 45 points, and the Netherlands, on 38, as the League 2 teams through to the ten-team ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2027.
That tournament decides the last four places at the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with its winner going directly into the group stage and the other three qualifiers entering at the Super Series round.
Scorecard: United Arab Emirates 213 all out in 46.3 overs (Muhammad Shahdad 79, Harpreet Singh 48; Shubham Ranjane 4-39, Saurabh Netravalkar 3-23); United States of America 214 for 5 in 38.4 overs (Shehan Jayasuriya 83; Muhammad Arfan 3-38). United States of America won by five wickets.
