Prasidh Krishna takes Purple Cap lead as Patidar, Kohli climb Orange Cap chart

The IPL 2026 leaderboard saw a major shake-up after Sunday’s double-header, with Prasidh Krishna surging to the top of the Purple Cap standings and Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli making strong moves in the Orange Cap race.

Representing Gujarat Titans, Prasidh delivered a match-winning spell of 4 for 28 against Lucknow Super Giants, taking his tally to 10 wickets in just four games. The performance not only powered his team to victory but also helped him overtake Ravi Bishnoi, who now sits second with nine wickets. Close behind is Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings with eight wickets.

Meanwhile, the Orange Cap standings have become equally competitive. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals continues to lead the chart, but Patidar has closed the gap significantly. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain smashed a breathtaking 53 off just 20 balls against Mumbai Indians, taking his season tally to 195 runs and moving into second place.

Kohli, too, made his presence felt with a composed half-century in the same match. With scores of 69 not out, 28, 32 and 50 this season, he has climbed into the top five, just behind Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Other notable performers include Heinrich Klaasen, who remains among the top run-scorers, and bowlers like Prince Yadav and Jacob Duffy, who are tied with six wickets each.

As the tournament gathers pace, both the Orange and Purple Cap races are heating up, with consistent performances becoming key in separating the frontrunners from the rest.
