New Zealand Bring Back Devine, Tahuhu for Must-Win Clash Against Scotland

New Zealand women's national cricket team won the toss and chose to bowl first against Scotland women's national cricket team in a crucial ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 encounter in Bristol, with both sides fighting to keep their semifinal hopes alive.

With temperatures expected to hit 33°C, fielding conditions are likely to be tough, making the toss potentially decisive in this high-pressure contest. The losing team will be officially eliminated from the tournament.

New Zealand made two significant changes, welcoming back Sophie Devine, who returns after recovering from illness, and veteran pacer Lea Tahuhu, who makes her first appearance of the tournament in what could be one of her final World Cup campaigns.

The Kiwis also reshuffled their batting order. Captain Melie Kerr has been promoted to open, while experienced batter Suzie Bates moves down to No. 7. Georgia Plimmer misses out.

Scotland, meanwhile, made two changes of their own, bringing back Ailsa Lister and Rachel Slater after injury layoffs, strengthening both their batting and bowling resources.

Both teams have lost two of their three matches, meaning only a win can keep their slim knockout chances alive while they also depend on other results going their way.
