The BCCI has named Muthoot FinCorp as the title sponsor of all cricket played in India through March 2028, with the deal beginning at India's first ODI against the West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram
The board announced the partnership on Saturday, a day before the West Indies tour of India opened at the Greenfield International Stadium. It covers every international series and tournament played in India as well as every domestic competition the board organises.
It also fills a gap. IDFC First Bank, the previous title sponsor of India's home cricket, finished its tenure in August 2026, leaving the board without a headline partner weeks before a home season began.
Muthoot FinCorp is part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group, the Thiruvananthapuram-based financial services conglomerate that trades under the Muthoot Blue banner, so the first match of the agreement is being played in the city the sponsor is run from.
The title rights extend well past the senior men's side. They take in the senior men's and women's national teams, India A and India B in the men's game, India A Women, and the Under-19 men's and women's teams.
On the domestic side the deal covers the Ranji Trophy, the Irani Cup, the Duleep Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Deodhar Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
That breadth is what the board chose to emphasise. "Indian cricket's home season brings together the national teams, domestic competitions and players at different stages of their journey," BCCI president Mithun Manhas said.
The BCCI has not published a value. The rights were taken to market at a base price of 4.85 crore rupees per match, a step up from the 4.2 crore per match IDFC First Bank paid, according to figures reported by Storyboard18 and carried by Business Today.
The two-season window covers roughly 35 home internationals — reported as 10 Tests, 12 ODIs and 13 T20Is — alongside the domestic and age-group fixtures.
Estimates of the total have ranged from about 130 crore to 171 crore rupees. None is confirmed: the same reporting notes the concluded price may sit below the base price, and the board has put no figure of its own on the agreement.
Honorary secretary Devajit Saikia framed the deal around the full structure rather than the international calendar alone. "India's home season represents the entire spectrum of our cricketing structure. From our senior national teams and India A to our age-group teams and domestic competitions, every part of this calendar has an important role to play in the development of Indian cricket," he said.
Vice-president Rajeev Shukla made the same point about the first-class game. "The strength of Indian cricket is built on a robust domestic structure, with competitions such as the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy providing an important pathway for players aspiring to represent India," he said.
For a group with more than 4,000 branches across India, the appeal is reach into a market where the board's fixtures are followed in every state it operates in.
"Cricket provides a meaningful way to connect with the Indian public. We believe our association with BCCI reflects our commitment to supporting Indian cricket across national and domestic platforms," said Thomas George Muthoot, joint managing director of Muthoot FinCorp.
The company's blue branding also sits close to India's own playing colours, a connection the board drew on in announcing the tie-up.
The agreement runs to March 2028, covering two full home seasons of international and domestic cricket.
India's first ODI against the West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram is the first match played under the new title sponsor's name.
