Pakistan bounced back strongly to level the ODI series with a commanding 127-run victory over Bangladesh national cricket team in the second ODI in Mirpur, powered by an outstanding all-round performance from Maaz Sadaqat.
After Pakistan were asked to bat first, Sadaqat set the tone with a blistering 75 off just 46 balls at the top of the order. His aggressive innings helped Pakistan national cricket team recover from their batting collapse in the first ODI. He dominated the early scoring, striking boundaries regularly and even launching Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana for a towering six.
Although wickets fell periodically after his dismissal, Pakistan built a strong total of 274. Captain Salman Agha contributed a valuable 64, while Mohammad Rizwan helped stabilize the middle overs before Bangladesh’s bowlers struck back late in the innings. Spinner Rishad Hossain finished with three wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz kept the scoring in check.
Bangladesh’s chase was immediately put under pressure by Pakistan’s pace attack. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi removed key batters early as Bangladesh slumped to 15 for 3 before a hailstorm and heavy rain halted play for more than two hours.
When play resumed, the revised target under the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method was set at 242 in 32 overs. Only Litton Das showed resistance with 41, briefly attacking Haris Rauf before falling lbw to Sadaqat.
From there, Bangladesh collapsed rapidly. Rauf finished with three wickets while Sadaqat added three more to complete a match-winning all-round display. Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 114 in just 23.3 overs.
The emphatic win levels the series 1–1 and sets up a decisive final ODI between the two evenly matched sides. 🏏
