Initially, his franchise Gujarat Titans cited “personal reasons” for his sudden departure, a move that has since drawn criticism for lacking transparency. Former Australia captain Tim Paine publicly questioned the framing of the issue, arguing that drug use during a tournament breaches professional conduct rather than qualifying as a private matter. Cricket South Africa, however, has accepted Rabada’s apology and commitment to rehabilitation, confirming he will face no further disciplinary action. With the matter now officially closed, Rabada is available for both the remainder of the IPL and South Africa’s upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia.
