Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Ishant Sharma has been fined 25% of his match fee and handed one demerit point for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Sunday’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

According to an official IPL statement, Ishant breached Article 2.2, which pertains to the "abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during a match." The incident was classified as a Level 1 offence. Ishant accepted the sanction, and no formal hearing was required, with match referee Javagal Srinath overseeing the process.

It was a tough outing for the veteran seamer, who went wicketless and conceded 53 runs in his four overs. He was later substituted out during GT’s innings, with Sherfane Rutherford replacing him after 13 overs.

Ishant’s form has been under scrutiny this season, with just one wicket and 107 runs conceded across three games (eight overs in total).

Despite Ishant’s struggles, GT registered their third consecutive win — a strong comeback after their opening loss to Punjab Kings — placing them second on the points table.
