Ireland Opt to Bowl First as Arlene Kelly Bids Farewell in Final ODI

Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl against England in the third and final ODI at Worcester, with England already holding an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

England made one change to their playing XI, with Lauren Filer coming in for Issy Wong, who has been rested after her match-winning five-wicket haul in Derby.

Ireland made two changes, bringing in Lara McBride for Georgina Dempsey and Arlene Kelly for Jane Maguire. The match marks an emotional farewell for Kelly, who announced her retirement from professional cricket at the age of 32.

The New Zealand-born allrounder made her Ireland debut against South Africa in June 2022 and went on to feature in 110 of Ireland Women's 117 internationals since her debut. She has taken 135 wickets across formats, making her Ireland's third-highest wicket-taker, while also contributing 601 international runs.

Kelly's best bowling figures came against the Netherlands in a 2023 T20I, when she claimed 5 for 12.

Ireland XI: Gaby Lewis (capt), Alice Tector, Amy Hunter, Orla Prendergast, Rebecca Stokell, Leah Paul, Louise Little, Arlene Kelly, Cara Murray, Lara McBride, Kia McCartney.

England XI: Maia Bouchier, Sophia Dunkley, Jodie Grewcock, Alice Capsey (wk), Freya Kemp, Dani Gibson, Charlie Dean (capt), Mady Villiers, Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Lauren Filer, Tilly Corteen-Coleman.
