IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap Standings: Sudharsan, Kishore, and Siraj Climb the Ranks

After Gujarat Titans’ (GT) emphatic 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Ahmedabad, the race for the Orange and Purple Caps in IPL 2025 has seen some major reshuffling, with standout performances from B Sai Sudharsan, R Sai Kishore, and Mohammed Siraj pushing them up the leaderboards.

Orange Cap Leaderboard

The battle for the top run-scorer is intensifying, with four batters now crossing the 200-run mark this season. Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continues to lead the pack with 288 runs from five innings, including three half-centuries. His consistency has kept him in pole position.

Rising swiftly through the ranks is B Sai Sudharsan, who delivered his highest score of the season on Wednesday — a stylish 82 off 53 balls that earned him Player of the Match honors and helped GT post 217 for 6. With 273 runs from five innings, Sudharsan now sits just behind Pooran, making a strong case for the Orange Cap.

LSG’s Mitchell Marsh also remains a key contender after smashing 81 off 48 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). With four fifties in five innings, Marsh has accumulated 265 runs, putting him firmly in third place.

GT opener Jos Buttler moved past the 200-run mark with his knock of 36 on Wednesday, taking his tally to 203. Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians (MI) rounds out the top five with 199 runs.

Purple Cap Leaderboard

On the bowling front, Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) spinner Noor Ahmad continues to wear the Purple Cap with 11 wickets from five matches. However, several bowlers are closing in fast.

GT’s R Sai Kishore, after a tidy 2 for 20 against RR, joins Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya (MI), and Khaleel Ahmed (CSK) on 10 wickets. Kishore edges ahead to third place thanks to a superior economy rate of 7.25. Hardik, with one game fewer than the others, remains in second. Siraj and Khaleel sit at fourth and fifth respectively, with economy rates of 7.70 and 8.25.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc and Shardul Thakur are right behind with nine wickets each, keeping the race tight as the league phase gathers momentum.

With both leaderboards heating up, the upcoming fixtures promise even more movement at the top — and more fireworks from both bat and ball.
