Grace Harris Signs with Surrey for Inaugural Women’s Vitality Blast

Australia’s hard-hitting allrounder Grace Harris has signed with Surrey Women to compete in the inaugural Vitality Blast, becoming the club’s first overseas player and the first official overseas signing in the newly professional era of women’s county cricket in England and Wales.

The 2025 season marks the first time that men’s and women’s county teams will compete alongside each other in the Vitality Blast, with Harris set to make her Surrey debut against Hampshire Hawks at the Kia Oval on June 5, as part of a double-header featuring the men’s fixture.

Big-Hitting Harris to Boost Surrey’s Lineup

Harris is widely regarded for her explosive batting and crafty off-spin, making her a sought-after player in franchise leagues worldwide. She has been a key figure for Brisbane Heat in the WBBL and recently finished as UP Warriorz' joint-highest run-scorer in the WPL. She also represents London Spirit in The Hundred and played a vital role in Australia’s 3-0 T20I sweep over England in the Women’s Ashes.

A Landmark Signing for Surrey

Surrey's Director of Women’s Cricket, Emma Calvert, expressed her excitement over the signing, emphasizing Harris’ international experience and dynamic playing style.

Surrey to Compete in Top-Tier Women’s Vitality Blast

Surrey Women will compete in Tier One of the Vitality Blast, alongside seven other top county teams. Each side will play 14 group-stage matches (home and away), with the top three teams qualifying for Finals Day at the Kia Oval on July 27.
