Former Australia opener David Warner has officially signed with the Seattle Orcas for the upcoming third edition of Major League Cricket (MLC), which kicks off on June 12, 2025. This marks Warner’s debut in the USA-based T20 league.
Currently leading Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Warner adds significant firepower and experience to Seattle’s squad. A veteran of 401 T20 matches with 12,956 runs at a strike rate of 140.27, Warner retired from international cricket in June 2024 but remains a sought-after presence in franchise cricket.
Despite going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction—despite being the fourth-highest run-scorer in the tournament’s history—Warner found form in the Big Bash League (BBL), captaining Sydney Thunder to the final and finishing as the second-highest run-getter with 405 runs in 12 innings. He was also part of Dubai Capitals' title-winning ILT20 campaign earlier this year.
Seattle Orcas, who topped the MLC standings in the inaugural 2023 season but finished bottom in 2024 under Heinrich Klaasen’s leadership, will be hoping Warner’s arrival sparks a turnaround.
MLC 2025 runs from June 12 to July 13 and, unlike last year, will not overlap with The Hundred, where Warner is slated to represent London Spirit.
