BCCI announces ₹58 crore reward for India's Champions Trophy triumph

The BCCI has announced a cash reward of ₹58 crore for the Indian team following their triumph in the 2025 Champions Trophy. India clinched the title with a four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final held in Dubai on March 9.

“Securing back-to-back ICC titles is a remarkable achievement, and this reward is a testament to Team India's commitment and excellence on the global stage,” said BCCI president Roger Binny. “This cash prize also acknowledges the tireless efforts of everyone working behind the scenes. With this being our second ICC title of 2025—after the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup win—it highlights the depth and strength of our cricketing ecosystem.”

The ICC had earlier announced a prize of USD 2.24 million for the Champions Trophy winners, along with an additional $34,000 for each group stage victory. The total prize pool for the tournament was $6.9 million—a 53% increase from the 2017 edition. Runners-up New Zealand received $1.12 million, while semi-finalists South Africa and Australia each earned $560,000. All eight participating teams were guaranteed a minimum of $125,000.

India’s recent run in ICC tournaments has been nothing short of dominant. The men’s team has won 23 out of their last 24 completed matches across the last three ICC limited-overs events. Their only defeat came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, following a ten-match unbeaten streak. Since that loss, India has gone on to complete flawless campaigns in both the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
