Yashasvi Jaiswal Requests to Stay with Mumbai for 2025-26 Domestic Season After Considering Move to Goa

Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to stay with Mumbai for the 2025-26 domestic season, reversing his earlier decision to move to Goa. He had initially planned to relocate with his family and play for Goa, and had even requested a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). However, after his family’s plans changed, Jaiswal withdrew his request and formally informed the MCA of his intention to continue his association with Mumbai.

The MCA is set to discuss his case at their upcoming apex council meeting, which is expected to occur within the next couple of weeks. Despite Jaiswal's change of heart, MCA secretary Abhay Hadap emphasized that there’s no urgency to make a decision as the next domestic season is still some time away.

Jaiswal, who has been part of Mumbai's cricketing scene since his Under-19 days, has had a standout domestic career. In his ten first-class appearances for Mumbai, he has scored 863 runs at an impressive average of 53.93, including four centuries and two half-centuries. His recent performances include a strong showing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 before the tournament's suspension.
