Shubman Gill savored India’s gritty draw in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, attributing much of the team’s resilience to his crucial partnership with KL Rahul. After India was reduced to 0/2, the two batted for nearly 70 overs, forging a solid 188-run third-wicket stand that steadied the innings and ignited a sense of belief in the team.

Gill, who scored a century in the innings, explained that their partnership sparked the team's resurgence. He mentioned, "From 0 for 2, the partnership KL bhai and I had, I think that ignited the spark. We thought, yes, we can do this." His composed 103 runs were instrumental in keeping the fight alive for India.

Following their dismissals, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar continued the resistance with an unbroken 203-run partnership. Both scored centuries in challenging conditions, with Gill praising their poise and skill under pressure. He said, "The way they calmly batted and got Test centuries from there tells you how big of an achievement it is."

Reflecting on the match, Gill emphasized the importance of mental strength and consistency. "To be able to have the same mindset for 143 overs is very difficult," he said. "That’s what makes the difference between a good team and a great team. We showed today why we’re a great team."
