Tanmay Baloda's match figures of 14-73 are the best recorded in a Youth Test as India Under-19s beat Australia by 10 wickets in Ahmedabad to take the series 2-0
The left-arm spinner followed his first-innings 6-32 with 8-41 on the third day at the B Ground of the Narendra Modi Stadium, bowling Australia Under-19s out for 151 and leaving India 11 runs to win.
They were knocked off inside the first over. Lakshya Raichandani hit two fours off Spencer Green and finished 9 not out as the match ended five balls in, India Under-19s winning by 10 wickets.
With the first Youth Test in Rajkot won by an innings and 48 runs, the two-match series ends 2-0, and follows the 3-0 sweep of the Youth ODI series that preceded it.
Australia resumed on 86 for 4, still 55 short of making India bat again, and lasted another 65 runs for the loss of their last six wickets.
Baloda took four of them. He had claimed every wicket to fall in the innings on the second evening, and added four on day three to finish with 8-41.
Blake Cattle held up the end that mattered, batting through most of the morning for 63 from 108 balls with eight fours and two sixes. Eli Brain made 39.
Priyanshu Singh took 2-25 in support of the spin. Australia were all out for 151 in 43.5 overs, a four-day match settled in three.
Baloda's 14-73 is the best match haul in Youth Test cricket, going past the 12-92 Tim Southee took for New Zealand Under-19s.
The Haryana slow left-armer bowled 25 overs for his first-innings 6-32, 11 of them maidens, on a surface that gave him grip from the opening day.
He was the difference between the sides across all three days, taking 14 of the 20 Australian wickets to fall in the match and conceding under three an over in doing it.
India's 315 in 78.4 overs was built by a middle order that refused to be hurried after the innings had been reduced to 38 for 2 on the opening evening.
Wicketkeeper Abhipray Biswas top-scored with 73. Captain Yashbardhan Chauhan made 52 from 83 balls and put on 68 with Kushagra Ojha, who made 29.
Legspinner Spencer Green was the one Australian to come out of the innings with credit, taking 7-110 in a long spell that kept India to a lead of 141.
India had chosen to bowl, and Baloda justified it inside two sessions as Australia were dismissed for 174 in 73 overs.
Charlie Henderson made 37 and Neel Patel 31, the only Australians to pass 30 in the innings. Ayaan Akram took two wickets with the new ball.
Australia then lost both of India's openers late on the first day to keep themselves in the match, but never got close to the position again once the lead had been conceded.
India Under-19s have won all five matches of the tour, three Youth ODIs and both Youth Tests, and neither Test reached a fourth day.
Cattle's 63 and Green's 7-110 are the performances the tourists take home from the longer format, both of them made in a losing cause.
Australia leave India without a win on the tour in either format.
