Rizvi retains Orange Cap; Bishnoi continues to lead bowlers

The IPL 2026 leaderboard remains unchanged after 12 matches, with Sameer Rizvi continuing to hold the Orange Cap and Ravi Bishnoi leading the Purple Cap standings.

Rizvi’s remarkable start to the season has been one of the biggest stories so far. Batting at No. 4 for Delhi Capitals, he has scored 160 runs in two innings, both match-winning efforts while chasing. His unbeaten 70 against Lucknow Super Giants and 90 against Mumbai Indians showcased not just his shot-making but also his composure under pressure.

Close behind him is Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who has accumulated 145 runs in three innings. Klaasen’s consistency and ability to accelerate have made him a key figure for SRH early in the tournament.

Rohit Sharma sits third with 113 runs for Mumbai Indians, including a blistering 78 that underlined his strong start. Also crossing the 100-run mark are Devdutt Padikkal (111), Cooper Connolly (108), and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (103).

On the bowling side, the competition is far tighter. Bishnoi, representing Rajasthan Royals, holds the Purple Cap thanks to his impactful performances, including a decisive 4 for 41 against Gujarat Titans.

However, he is level on five wickets with three others: Vijaykumar Vyshak of Punjab Kings, Jacob Duffy of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings.

With the tournament still in its early phase, both races remain wide open. But for now, Rizvi’s breakout batting performances and Bishnoi’s wicket-taking consistency continue to define the early IPL 2026 narrative.
