Prasidh Tops IPL 2025 Purple Cap Standings After Saturday Double-Header

The IPL 2025 race for the Purple and Orange Caps is heating up — and Saturday's double-header brought some serious shake-ups.

The clashes — Gujarat Titans (GT) vs Delhi Capitals (DC), and Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) — gave us a new wicket-taking leader and fresh faces among the top run-scorers.

🟣 Purple Cap Leaderboard

Noor Ahmad’s long reign at the top has finally ended. GT’s Prasidh Krishna is the new No. 1 after a match-winning spell of 4 for 41 against DC, putting him two wickets clear of the rest. He now holds the top spot after spending the early part of the tournament climbing steadily, following a wicketless start against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Noor Ahmad (GT) – Drops to second after a stellar early run.
Kuldeep Yadav (DC) – His 1 for 30 vs GT takes him to 12 wickets; ranks higher based on economy.
Josh Hazlewood – Also on 12 wickets, but slips due to a higher economy rate.
Shardul Thakur (LSG) – Quietly consistent, now joins the 12-wicket club after his 1 for 34 vs RR.

Just outside the top five with 11 wickets are R Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj (GT), Hardik Pandya (MI), and Khaleel Ahmed (DC). The race is wide open, and it's getting more exciting by the match.

🟠 Orange Cap Leaderboard

The batting leaderboard saw its own shake-up. After a stretch dominated by Nicholas Pooran, B Sai Sudharsan, and Mitchell Marsh, two familiar names have made a move.

Jos Buttler stormed into third place with an unbeaten 97 off 54 balls for GT, while Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his fine form with 74 off 52 balls, his third consecutive fifty. Marsh, despite a solid season, slips to fifth.

Mitchell Marsh (DC) – Holds on with 299 runs, just a run shy of the 300 club.

Also in the hunt: Aiden Markram (SRH) with a recent 66, along with KL Rahul (DC), Suryakumar Yadav (MI), and Shreyas Iyer (PBKS), all past the 250-run mark.
