More than 400 runs were scored in Ahmedabad on Thursday night as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT), leading to notable shifts in the IPL 2025 top run-scorers and wicket-takers charts.

At the top of the Orange Cap standings, GT’s opening duo B Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill remain first and second, with 638 and 636 runs respectively, despite their moderate scores of 21 and 35 in the game. Mitchell Marsh’s brilliant unbeaten 117 propelled him up to fourth place with 560 runs from 12 matches, closing the gap on Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav who sits just above him. Nicholas Pooran also moved up to seventh with his quickfire 56*, now tallying 511 runs for the season.

On the Purple Cap leaderboard, Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmad reclaimed the top spot with 21 wickets, overtaking GT’s Prasidh Krishna who was wicketless in the match and now sits second. Noor edges Krishna with a slightly better bowling average (18.42) despite a higher economy rate. GT’s R Sai Kishore moved up to sixth with 16 wickets, while Mumbai Indians’ Trent Boult holds third place with 19 wickets.

The high-scoring encounter has certainly reshaped the race for IPL 2025’s top individual honours as the tournament heads into its final stages.
