Delhi Capitals (DC) seamer Mukesh Kumar has been fined 10% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI), a loss that officially ended DC’s hopes of qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs. The incident involved a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2, which pertains to the abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, or ground fixtures. Mukesh accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Daniel Manohar. It capped a poor outing for the bowler, who endured a rough spell on Wednesday, conceding 48 runs in four overs, including a costly 19th over that went for 27 runs as Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir powered MI to a competitive total of 180. Mukesh’s figures of 2 for 48 included five fours and three sixes. Substituted out for KL Rahul as an Impact Player, Mukesh could only watch as DC’s chase crumbled to 121 all out, with only Sameer Rizvi (39) and Vipraj Nigam (20) managing any resistance. Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Santner strangled DC’s innings with tight spells, conceding just 23 runs combined in 44 deliveries while sharing three wickets. Across the season, Mukesh has played in 11 of DC’s 13 games, picking up 11 wickets at an average of 32.63 and an economy rate of 10.11.
