Mujeeb and de Kock power Tridents to end four-match losing run

Barbados Tridents bounced back from four consecutive defeats with a convincing eight-wicket victory over St Lucia Kings in Bridgetown.

After opting to bowl, Tridents restricted the Kings to 138 for 6, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman leading the attack with an impressive 3 for 22. Daniel Sams also chipped in with 2 for 20, while Kamil Pooran’s 37 and Roston Chase’s 34 were the main contributions for the Kings.

Chasing 139, Tridents made light work of the target. Zachary Carter scored a quick 32 off 22 balls, while Quinton de Kock took charge later in the innings with an unbeaten 47 off 31 balls, including three fours and two sixes.

Rivaldo Clarke remained unbeaten on 36 as he and de Kock added an unbroken 76-run partnership to guide Tridents home with 10 balls to spare.

Despite the win, Barbados Tridents remain at the bottom of the CPL 2026 table, but the victory keeps their campaign alive.
