After being put in to bat, the Rapids crumbled to 143 all out in 19.1 overs, with only Gareth Roderick offering resistance with a composed 35 off 28 balls. Lancashire's bowlers were clinical from the outset, with James Anderson and Luke Wood removing both openers in the first seven deliveries. Wood went on to claim three wickets, while Tom Aspinwall and Jack Blatherwick delivered crucial breakthroughs backed by outstanding fielding, including a spectacular boundary catch by Blatherwick. Despite a late cameo of 24 not out from Jacob Duffy, Worcestershire’s total was well below par. In response, Lancashire chased down the target with ease, finishing on 146 for 3 with 15 balls to spare. Keaton Jennings (42 off 37) and Matty Hurst (quick-fire 29) laid a solid platform, before Liam Livingstone (41* off 22) and Ashton Turner (unbeaten 20) guided their side home, capped by Livingstone’s powerful six into the chestnut tree. The victory keeps Lightning firmly on track in the competition, while the Rapids were left ruing their early collapse.
