LA Knight Riders Set to Debut Home Ground in Pomona for MLC 2026

The Los Angeles Knight Riders will play matches at their own dedicated venue for the first time in the Major League Cricket 2026 season, with the unveiling of the Knight Riders Cricket Field at Fairplex in Pomona, California.

The new ground marks a significant step in establishing a permanent base for the franchise, as previous editions of Major League Cricket were played across multiple neutral venues such as Dallas, Oakland, and Lauderhill. The 2026 season, scheduled for June–July, will now feature at least some matches hosted at the Pomona venue.

Located at Fairplex, the Knight Riders Cricket Field is part of a broader vision by the Knight Riders group to grow cricket’s footprint in the United States. The venue is expected to serve not only as the team’s home ground but also as a central hub for cricket development in the region.

In a major boost to the sport’s global ambitions, the ground is also expected to host matches during the 2028 Summer Olympics, where cricket will make its long-awaited return after more than a century. This positions Pomona as a key location in the sport’s expansion into new markets.

Co-owner Shah Rukh Khan expressed excitement about the development, highlighting the United States as a growing cricket market with passionate fans. Fairplex officials also welcomed the partnership, noting the opportunity to bring one of the world’s most popular sports to Southern California.

The Knight Riders group already operates franchises in multiple leagues worldwide, and this move reinforces their long-term commitment to building cricket infrastructure globally.

Despite their growing presence, LA Knight Riders are yet to win a Major League Cricket title in the tournament’s first three seasons. The introduction of a home venue could provide the stability and fan support needed to push the franchise toward its first championship. 🏏
