Heinrich Klaasen has returned to peak destructive form at the perfect time for Sunrisers Hyderabad, producing a breathtaking innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru that reminded the cricket world why he remains one of the most feared middle-order batters in T20 cricket.

Klaasen smashed 51 runs off just 24 deliveries in Hyderabad, accelerating dramatically after a slow start to completely change the momentum of the innings. During the knock, he also created history by becoming the first batter ever to score 600 runs in a single T20 tournament while batting at No. 4 or lower.

The South African star’s achievement becomes even more remarkable considering the role he has been asked to play this season. Batting behind SRH’s explosive top order and ahead of a relatively inexperienced lower middle order, Klaasen has often had to balance aggression with stability.
