Even after Falconer's dismissal, England's lower order continued to fight. Ali Farooq and Bradley Sylvester added 28 for the final wicket, but Basson ended the resistance by bowling Farooq to seal South Africa's victory.

Basson's outstanding bowling ultimately proved the difference as South Africa U19s secured a memorable 45-run victory despite Falconer's determined fourth-day hundred.
