Jacks, Jordan Star as Surrey Hold Off Middlesex in Lord’s Thriller

Skipper Leus du Plooy added 29 off 17, but was run out by substitute fielder Adam Thomas with a direct hit, moments before Eskinazi was caught at short third—two key blows that shifted momentum firmly back to the visitors.

A defiant stand between Higgins (29 off 18) and Luke Hollman (32 off 14)* reignited Middlesex's hopes with an explosive 62-run unbeaten partnership from just 29 balls, especially as Hollman took Sam Curran for three fours and a six in the penultimate over.

Needing a challenging final over to win, Middlesex fell just short as Chris Jordan held his nerve to finish with 2 for 28, ensuring Surrey held on and maintained their push for the top spot in the South Group standings.

This win reinforced Surrey’s strong campaign, while Middlesex—despite flashes of brilliance—were left to rue their mid-innings collapse and missed chances in the field.
