India Thrash Namibia by 93 Runs to Strengthen Semi-Final Push

India piled up 209 for 9 in 20 overs against Namibia in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi after being asked to bat first.

The innings was powered by a breathtaking knock from Ishan Kishan, who smashed 61 off just 24 balls, bringing up his half-century in only 20 deliveries. Kishan dominated the powerplay with clean striking, peppering the boundary with a flurry of sixes and fours that gave India early momentum.

Sanju Samson provided valuable support in the middle overs with a brisk cameo, keeping the run rate above 10 an over as wickets fell around him. Despite the strong start, India lost wickets at regular intervals in the latter half of the innings as Namibia’s bowlers fought back. Captain Gerhard Erasmus and his attack mixed pace and spin effectively to prevent India from pushing beyond the 210-mark comfortably.

India’s total of 209/9 still represents a commanding score on a Delhi surface that has offered runs but also some assistance to slower bowlers.

Namibia, in response, face a steep target of 210 and will need a rapid start in the powerplay to stay in contention. Much will depend on their top order to counter India’s pace and spin combination.

With a strong total on the board, India will look to strike early and tighten the pressure through the middle overs as they aim to consolidate their position in Group A.
