Harry Brook has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test batting rankings, overtaking fellow England star Joe Root after England’s win over New Zealand national cricket team at Lord’s.
Brook, who scored 56 in the low-scoring Test, returned to the top ranking for the first time since 2024. Root slipped to No. 3 after scores of 1 and 8 in the match, while Travis Head climbed to second place.
India captain Shubman Gill also made gains in the latest rankings update. Gill moved up two places to No. 8 following his century against Afghanistan national cricket team in New Chandigarh, where India registered their biggest-ever Test victory by an innings and 300 runs.
England pacer Gus Atkinson broke into the top 10 of the ICC Test bowling rankings after starring against New Zealand with seven wickets, including a second-innings five-for at Lord’s. He also improved his standing among Test allrounders, climbing from No. 8 to No. 6.
In ODI rankings, Pakistan’s bowlers made significant progress after their series win over Australia. Abrar Ahmed moved up to No. 2 in the ODI bowling rankings after taking six wickets in the series, while captain Shaheen Shah Afridi entered the top 10 following his seven-wicket haul across three matches.
Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana was another major mover, jumping 23 spots to No. 24 after his impressive four-wicket performance against Australia in Mirpur.
