Kolkata Knight Riders continued their strong run in IPL 2026 with an eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. KKR first restricted DC to 142 for 8 before Finn Allen produced a stunning unbeaten century to finish the chase almost singlehandedly.
DC started reasonably well, with Pathum Nissanka leading the innings. He scored a fluent 50 and looked comfortable on a slow surface where other batters struggled to settle. However, his dismissal changed the direction of the innings. Nissanka stepped out against Anukul Roy and was stumped, giving KKR the opening they needed.
From there, KKR’s spinners took control. Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy used the slow and turning pitch smartly, keeping DC under pressure through the middle overs. At one stage, Delhi managed only 11 runs in 30 balls between overs 12 and 16, showing how difficult scoring had become.
Roy played a key role in the spin choke, removing Nissanka and Tristan Stubbs in quick time. Narine was also excellent, finishing with 1 for 17 from four overs, while Varun kept things tight despite struggling with a limp late in his spell.
Ashutosh Sharma’s 39 off 28 balls helped DC reach 142, but the total never looked enough once Allen found his rhythm. The KKR opener attacked Delhi’s spinners with brutal power, especially down the ground.
Allen reached his first IPL century in style, finishing unbeaten on 100. He smashed 10 sixes and scored 73 runs off 31 balls against spin at a strike rate of 235. His final six not only completed his hundred but also sealed the match for KKR.
The victory was KKR’s fourth straight win, keeping their playoff hopes alive and giving them fresh momentum in the tournament.
