England name their Under-19 women's squad for a five-match T20 series in India

England have named a 15-player Under-19 women's squad for the 2027 World Cup and a five-match T20 series in India that begins in Baroda on November 26

England Women Under-19s will spend the back end of the year in India, playing five T20s across Baroda and Surat between November 26 and December 6 before staying on for a further week of outdoor work.

The tour is the centrepiece of what the ECB calls the age group's biggest winter programme, and it leads into the ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup in Nepal and Bangladesh in January and February 2027.

England are the first nation to name a squad for the tournament. A captain will be appointed at a later date.

A tour arranged for the conditions

The squad will work through a series of training camps in the United Kingdom before travelling, an arrangement head coach Chris Guest said was a deliberate change from previous cycles.

"Taking on board learnings from previous campaigns, we have gone about things slightly differently this time, ensuring that our players are getting some game time outdoors much closer to the tournament," Guest said.

The five-match series is scheduled across two venues, with the first two T20s in Baroda on November 26 and 28 and the remaining three in Surat on December 1, 3 and 6.

The five non-travelling reserves will join every training camp and the India leg, including the extra week that follows the T20s.

India on the other side again

The opposition is familiar, and the record is not in England's favour. England reached the final of the inaugural edition in 2023 and were beaten there by India.

Two years later in Malaysia they went out in the semi-finals, again to India, who went on to win the title.

The 2027 tournament will be the competition's third edition, and India will arrive at it as the reigning champions.

One survivor from Malaysia

Warwickshire's Phoebe Brett, who is 18, is the only member of the 2025 squad to be named again, leaving England with an almost entirely new group to prepare.

The Blaze's Maria Andrews moves up from the role she filled two years ago, having been a non-travelling reserve during the build-up to the 2025 tournament.

Essex and the regional side The Blaze supply three players each, with Hampshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire providing two apiece.

The squad

The 15 are Maria Andrews (The Blaze), Amelie Bishop (Essex), Phoebe Brett (Warwickshire), Eliza Bristowe (Hampshire), Flora Davies (The Blaze), Holly Garton (Yorkshire), Bryony Gillgrass (Essex), Genevieve Jeer (Surrey/Kent), Amelia Oliver (Yorkshire), Shristi Patil (Hampshire), Prarthana Reddy (Glamorgan), Faith Teekasingh (The Blaze), Clara Thacker (Essex), Skye Thomas (Lancashire) and Venus Weerappuli (Lancashire).

The non-travelling reserves are Ava Clive (Warwickshire), Ivreen Dhaliwal (Surrey), Libby Fellows (Yorkshire), Lucy Randle-Bissell (Yorkshire) and Isobel Thorndike (Glamorgan).

Two aims for the winter

Guest set out a brief that runs past the tournament itself. "The goals for the winter are dual focused. We want to win the World Cup, and we are also developing players and helping them prepare for what their career might look like in a professional environment," he said.

He added that the group "will be the best prepared squad we will have sent to the U19 Women's World Cup", and that the aspiration, as always, is to win it.

The reserves' place in every camp and on the India leg extends that development brief beyond the travelling 15.

The squad assembles for its first camp in the United Kingdom before the India tour, with the opening T20 in Baroda on November 26.
