England Make Squad Change Ahead of Second Test Against Pakistan

England have made a late change to their squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s, with fast bowler Sonny Baker replacing Brydon Carse.

Carse has been withdrawn from the 16-player squad while the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) investigates an incident in Derby on Saturday night. The Cricket Regulator has confirmed that it will investigate the events, with the ECB stating that Carse will remain unavailable while the facts are established.

Baker, who made his Test debut against New Zealand at The Oval in June, now has an opportunity to earn his second Test cap. He previously impressed during England’s Test summer and provides another pace option for the squad.

England head into the Lord’s Test with confidence after a dominant innings-and-103-run victory over Pakistan at Headingley in the opening match of the series.
