BCCI Invites Applications for Spin-Bowling Coach at its Centre of Excellence

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for the position of spin-bowling coach at its Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. This comes after former India spinner Sairaj Bahutule resigned from the role and joined Rajasthan Royals in a similar capacity for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Bahutule held the position for three years but has now moved to Rajasthan Royals as their spin-bowling coach.

The last date to apply for this position is 5:00 PM on April 10, 2025.

Role of the Coach

According to the BCCI’s press release, the spin-bowling coach will closely collaborate with the Head Coach at the BCCI CoE to design and implement specialized coaching programs and assist in performance monitoring. The coach will work in coordination with selectors, national and state-level coaches, performance analysts, and strength & conditioning experts to develop high-performance training plans.

The role is crucial for developing spin bowlers who can excel in international cricket, ensuring they receive the best training and guidance to enhance their skills.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the position of spin-bowling coach, candidates must meet specific criteria set by the BCCI. They must have represented India or played at the first-class level with at least 75 first-class matches under their belt. Additionally, candidates must have a proven coaching record with a minimum of three years of experience in the last seven years. This experience should be with high-performance centers, international teams, India A, India U-19, India Women’s team, or IPL franchises.
