The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is closely monitoring the situation in Pakistan before making a final decision about the scheduled white-ball tour later this month. The team is set to play five T20Is in Lahore and Faisalabad, but concerns over security, especially with ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, have prompted careful consideration.
In an official statement, the BCB emphasized that the safety and security of the players and support staff are their highest priority. "All decisions concerning the tour will be made with careful consideration of the current situation in Pakistan, ensuring they align with the best interests of the team and Bangladesh cricket."
Ahead of the tour, Bangladesh will first travel to Dubai to play two T20Is against the UAE in Sharjah on May 17 and 19 as part of their preparations for the Asia Cup in September. Players Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana, who were previously part of the postponed PSL 2025, have returned to Dhaka but will join the Bangladesh squad for the UAE T20Is. Due to the team's international commitments, it is unlikely they will return to the PSL should the tournament resume soon.
The BCB’s cautious stance reflects the ongoing uncertainties regarding the security situation in Pakistan, which will ultimately influence whether the tour goes ahead as planned.
