Bangladesh Set for Multi-Format Zimbabwe Tour as Hosts Return to Home Cricket

Bangladesh national cricket team will travel to Zimbabwe for a full all-format series in June and July, marking Zimbabwe national cricket team’s first home international assignment of the year.

The tour will feature one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is, beginning with the lone Test match in Harare on June 28. The ODI leg of the series will also be played in Harare between July 6 and 11, before the teams move to Bulawayo for the three-match T20I series from July 15 to 19.

The upcoming contest continues a closely fought rivalry between the two nations. Bangladesh currently hold a narrow 9-8 advantage over Zimbabwe in Test cricket, with the most recent Test series between the sides ending 1-1 in Bangladesh in 2025. Zimbabwe’s victory in that series was particularly significant as it marked their first Test win since defeating Afghanistan in 2021.

Zimbabwe will also take confidence from Bangladesh’s previous white-ball tour in 2022, when the hosts won both the ODI and T20I series 2-1 in Harare.

The series carries additional importance for Zimbabwe cricket as it will be the national team’s first international action since their impressive campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup earlier this year. Zimbabwe reached the Super Eight stage for the first time after memorable victories over Australia national cricket team and Sri Lanka national cricket team.

Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni described the Bangladesh tour as a major moment for the country’s cricket calendar and said fans would be eager to support the side after their recent international success.

With both teams looking to build momentum across formats, the tour is expected to provide competitive cricket and an important opportunity for Zimbabwe to continue their resurgence on home soil.
