Australia A Women overhauled India A Women's 338 for 6 with three balls to spare in Mohali to level the one-day series at 1-1

Australia A Women won the second unofficial ODI at the I.S. Bindra Punjab Cricket Association Stadium by two wickets, reaching 341 for 8 in 49.3 overs. It was the higher of two large totals on a pitch that offered the bowlers little throughout.

India A had batted first after winning the toss and posted 338 for 6, built around a century from captain Yastika Bhatia and two half-centuries either side of it.

Australia A answered with four scores past 35 and a burst of hitting in the middle overs from Charli Knott, who was named player of the match. The result squares the three-match series at 1-1 with the decider at the same ground on 25 September.

Bhatia's hundred sets the tone

India A were given a quick start by Priya Punia, who made 36 from 32 balls with seven fours, and Tanisha Singh, who added 37 from 49.

Bhatia then took the innings away from Australia A. The wicketkeeper-captain made 112 from 84 balls with 16 fours and two sixes, scoring squarer than the Australia A seamers wanted and picking off the spinners through the off side.

Tejal Hasabnis followed with 60 from 66 balls, and the pair kept the scoring rate above a run a ball through the middle overs.

Anushka Sharma finishes the innings

India A lost three wickets for very little as the innings closed, with Niki Prasad out for 0 and Minnu Mani for 3.

Anushka Sharma held the end together and finished unbeaten on 60 from 46 balls with seven fours and two sixes, adding an unbroken stand with Sayali Satghare, who was 12 not out.

Darcie Brown was the pick of the Australia A attack with 3-39 from eight overs. Milly Illingworth took 2-44 and Lilly Mills 1-70, while Tayla Vlaeminck went wicketless but conceded only 33 from six.

Learoyd and Knott swing the chase

Tahlia Wilson, who leads Australia A in the 50-over matches, anchored the reply with 79 from 77 balls, keeping the required rate within reach while wickets fell around her.

The innings turned on two short, fast contributions. Anika Learoyd made 54 from 29 balls with nine fours and two sixes, and Knott followed with 63 from 37, hitting three sixes.

Between them they took the chase from a holding position to one where Australia A needed less than a run a ball with wickets in hand.

India A's spinners drag it back

India A were not finished. Minnu Mani returned 3-48 from her ten overs and Prasad took 2-43, removing Katie Mack for 2 and breaking the partnerships as they formed.

Tess Flintoff made 38 from 43 and Hayley Silver-Holmes 47 from 51, but both fell with the game still open, and Satghare's 2-69 left Australia A eight down inside the final two overs.

Illingworth settled it, finishing 22 not out from 14 balls with two sixes to get Australia A home with three deliveries remaining.

A decider and a four-day game to come

Australia A had swept the T20 leg of the tour 3-0 at Mullanpur before India A won the first one-day by four wickets.

The third one-day is at Mohali on 25 September, and the tour then closes with a four-day match from 29 September, relocated from Dharamshala to the same venue after heavy rain left the outfield unfit.
