Saurashtra top-order batter Aryan Savsani and Haryana allrounder Tanmay Baloda have been added to India's Under-19 squads for the upcoming series against Australia U-19, replacing Bengal legspinner Rohit Yadav.
The BCCI confirmed the changes on Tuesday after Rohit was handed a two-year suspension last Friday for an age discrepancy. Rohit had been part of India's Under-19 tour of Sri Lanka in July but was withdrawn from the squad after the issue came to light during a pre-season documentation drive conducted by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
Rohit, who has represented Bengal at age-group level, is understood to have had a 27-month discrepancy in his recorded age. The CAB has also barred 64 other players over similar discrepancies, including former India U-19 World Cup winner Ravi Kumar.
Savsani has been added to India's one-day squad, while Baloda has been drafted into the four-day team. Lakshya Raichandani will captain the side in the three-match one-day series, with Yashbardhan Chauhan as his deputy. The two will swap roles for the multi-day fixtures.
The one-day squad also features Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, the sons of former India captains Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid. Dravid was part of the Sri Lanka tour and scored 87 in the second one-day match.
The three one-day games will be played on September 18, 21 and 23. The four-day matches are scheduled for September 27-30 and October 5-8, with most fixtures taking place in Rajkot and the second four-day game in Ahmedabad.
