Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav anchored MI's innings with a well-constructed 57, extending his record of consecutive T20 scores of 25-plus to 14, while late-order efforts from Naman Dhir and Hardik Pandya gave MI a defendable total. However, injuries to Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma hampered MI’s bowling resources, and PBKS capitalized. The result means MI now face the prospect of playing in the Eliminator, with their opponent dependent on the outcome of the RCB vs LSG clash.
