Amazon Warriors Cruise Past Falcons to Stay Unbeaten in CPL 2026

The Guyana Amazon Warriors continued their impressive CPL 2026 campaign with a commanding seven-wicket win over the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, handing the hosts their first home defeat of the season.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Guyana’s attack delivered another disciplined performance. Khary Pierre struck twice in the Powerplay, removing Rahkeem Cornwall and Karima Gore. Although Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz put together a 40-run partnership, the Falcons struggled to maintain momentum once the stand was broken.

Glenn Phillips produced a brilliant catch to dismiss Nawaz and later claimed the wicket of Jangoo with the ball. Shamar Joseph also impressed, removing Joshua James before returning to clean up the lower order.

The Falcons suffered a dramatic collapse towards the end, losing their final five wickets for just eight runs in 15 deliveries. Despite an unbeaten effort from Shadab Khan, the hosts were bowled out for 116.

The Warriors began their chase aggressively despite losing Glenn Phillips and Matthew Nandu early. Shai Hope took charge during the Powerplay, while Shimron Hetmyer attacked the Falcons’ spinners, smashing sixes against Rahkeem Cornwall and Moeen Ali.

Hetmyer eventually fell for a quick 49, but the Warriors were already firmly in control. Hope remained unbeaten on 47, while Quentin Sampson sealed the victory with a six as Guyana reached the target in just the 10th over.

With another convincing victory under their belt, the Amazon Warriors remain unbeaten in CPL 2026, while their strong net run rate received another significant boost.
